Jospeh Aaron Horowitz
Founding Member and Managing Partner
Joseph Aaron Horowitz is the Managing Partner of PIR Equities and serves as a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining PIR Equities in 2008, Mr. Horowitz held various roles at Goldman Sachs where he spent 12 years focusing on real estate opportunities and investments. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Horowitz was a member of the Financial Institutions Group at Morgan Stanley as a senior analyst.
At PIR Equities, Mr. Horowitz is responsible for the overall management of business affairs of the firm. Communicating and reaching decisions with the firm's Investment Committee on implementation of firm policies and objectives. Mr. Horowitz is a strong believer in synthesizing insights and approaches across industries. He therefore spends his time in a variety of industries, and travels excessively.
Mr. Horowitz graduated from New York University (NYU) Stern Business School and received an MBA in Finance.
Susan Lauinger Hoffman
Susan Lauinger Hoffman is a Partner of PIR Equities and serves as a member of the Investment Committee.
Mrs. Hoffman has over 25 years of experience in private equity and advisory roles. Prior to joining PIR Equities in 2012, Mrs. Hoffman was a corporate associate and coordinator at the Blackstone Group. She has broad experience advising on a wide range of matters for private and public companies.
At PIR Equities, Ms. Hoffman overseas management and advisory services. She has advised clients on a wide array of financial services topics, including asset and wealth management, retail brokerage and banking, as well as wealth, and property. During her tenure at Blackstone, she had advised clients across the private equity and social impact spheres.
Mrs. Hoffman received her MBA in Finance from the London School of Economics.
Amy Hong is a Partner of PIR Equities and serves as a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining PIR Equities, Ms. Hong was CEO of SinoSheen HK Investment Group a Hong Kong based investment firm acquired by Fidelity UK. Prior to that Ms. Hong was an operating officer at HT Capital Management Hedge fund Hong Kong. In this role, Ms. Hong conducted due-diligence of potential portfolio companies as well as developing financial plans for the firm alongside senior directors. Ms. Hong has extensive experience evaluating potential investments for the firm. Ms. Hong sits on the board and is a Director to several portfolio assets.
Ms. Hong holds a BBA from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton Graduate School of Business.
Mark Cohen is a Partner of PIR Equities and serves as a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining PIR Equities, Mr. Cohen was a senior fixed income analyst at Wells Fargo, where he was responsible for the review and analysis of existing investments. Before that, Mr. Cohen was at Ernst & Young working in the global financial services team where he audited quarterly and annual publications of banks and insurance companies. At PIR Equities, Mr. Cohen conducts analysis on debt or fixed income securities and stays abreast of trends and news, such as competitive position and financial stability of organizations, in order to identify potential risks.
Mr. Cohen received his MBA in Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Jeffrey Falczuk is a Partner of PIR Equities and serves as a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining PIR Equities, Mr. Falczuk was a senior analyst at Lazard, a merchant bank advising and investing across the financial services sector. While at Lazard, Mr. Falczuk worked on a variety of advisory transactions and investment opportunities.
Mr. Falczuk is an expert in organization and performance improvement practices. At PIR Equities his focus areas include organizational simplification, end to end process redesign, real estate, operations and zero based budgeting. Highly skilled in strategic sourcing initiatives, benchmarking, vendor rating and cost reduction programs.
Mr. Falczuk graduated with honors from Hunter College, receiving his B.A. in Economics with a secondary field in Business Administration.
O.D. Kobo is a founding Partner of PIR Equities.
An experienced executive with twenty-years of demonstrated history working in the financial services and technology industry. Mr. Kobo co-founded PIR Equities with childhood friend Joseph Aaron Horowitz in 2007. He has advised and assisted on numerous transactions representing more than $2 billion in aggregate value. עודד קובו
Prior to PIR Equities, Mr. Kobo co-founded Hong Kong based pre-IPO investment firm SinoSheen Investments and KGIM, a China focused TMT venture group which led to several M&A activities as well as partnerships with the then Prime Minister of Qatar - HH Al Thani and the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). KGIM was acquired by East River Capital for $120 million in 2010 and SinoSheen was acquired for $52 million in 2011.
Mr. Kobo has been an executive director at family owned property group Camden Market Holdings and was an integral part in negotiating its sale in 2014 of $680 million to Lab Tech. Camden Market Holdings had owned and operated iconic properties such as Europe's 2nd largest tourist attraction Camden Market, Stables Market and Developments bringing over 42 million tourists per annum.
Mr. Kobo is responsible for forming significant partnerships and has structured capital from some of the world’s most sophisticated business leaders including; Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani (the former Prime Minister of Qatar), the Qatar Investment Authority (Qatar’s national wealth fund), businessman Roman Abramovich (of Millhouse Capital, Chelsea FC), Gee Roberson (the former Chairman of Geffen Records, manager of Kanye West), Teddy Sagi (of Playtech, SafeCharge, Labs), William Lei Ding (of Netease), Jack Ma (of Alibaba), Elliot Bernerd (of Chelsfield Partners), Richard Caring of Caprice Holdings (owners of Soho House, The Ivy, Annabel's), amongst others.
Born in Hong Kong, educated in New York and London, Mr. Kobo maintains a significant network of relationships from around the world. Since 2018, he had stepped down from an active role at PIR Equities to co-found Adasaki Global Advisory where he advises clients on complex business practices, international expansion strategies, private placement, and various M&A assignments.
